The settling of scores between «the family» of Toretto and Shaw came with the seventh installment of ‘Fast and Furious’, which also gave us one of the most iconic action sequences of the saga (if you haven’t seen it, suffice it to say that it happens in Abu Dhabi). ‘Fast and Furious 7’ also «retires» Brian O’Conner’s character, following the death of Paul Walker during filming.

The eighth installment of the saga raises the stakes even higher, and now involves cyber-terrorism and a plot that separates Toretto from the «family.» Even more fast-paced action that does, indeed, involve ice racing and even submarines.

Taking advantage of Dwayne Johnson’s «star power» (and his behind-the-scenes conflicts with Diesel), the ‘Fast and Furious’ franchise delivers its first proper spin-off with ‘Hobbs & Shaw’. This film capitalizes on the charisma of Johnson and Statham to move the action of the saga to proportions closer to superhero cinema, thanks to the villain with cybernetic implants Brixton Lore (Idris Elba).

In a post-credits scene,4 Dom appears driving in Baja California, Mexico, in a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS saying, «I live life a quarter mile at a time, nothing else matters, but in those 10 seconds or less, I’m free.»
